Eric J. Holcomb has been a lifelong Hoosier. If he is not in his office one could find him at a local diner, shooting hoops on the basketball court or scouring for presidential signatures. He attended Pike High School in Indianapolis and graduated from Hanover College with a degree in U.S. History. Gov. Holcomb has also received honorary degrees from Trine University, Ivy Tech and Anderson University. After college Gov. Holcomb married Janet and they adopted a miniature Schnauzer named Henry.

It is no question Gov. Holcomb has served his country and home state well. As a veteran he had the opportunity to serve his country both domestically and oversees. Upon returning he began to work alongside Governor Mitch Daniels, Senator Dan Coats and Governor Mike Pence. and worked closely with former Gov. Mike Pence. While working with these individuals Gov. Holcomb gained managerial experience, counter-terrorism exposure and rural development planning.

Gov. Holcomb is dedicated republican. He once served as the chairman of the Indiana Republican Party which advocates for conservative ideals and policies. Additionally he has worked closely with well known conservatives such as Mike Pence.

The COVID-19 pandemic has required state governors to step up significantly. Gov. Eric Holcomb designed a program to “slow the spread” of the virus. His inciative included masks, equipping hospitals and emergency relief funding.

Gov. Holcomb designed a “Next Level Roads” agenda in 2017. This plan included investing $4.7 billion to resurface 10,000 miles of road and bridges. Gov. Holcomb also allocated $342 million to help cities and towns fix up their roadways.

In 2018 Gov. Holcomb joined forces with the Markle Foundation in an effort to inform Hoosiers on business skills needed in the workforce. This program became known as “Skillful Indiana” and has helped hundreds of Indiana residence start their businesses.
